The Make a Wish Foundation is a worthy organization that grants the wishes of children who suffer from life threatening illnesses. There are various ways to help make those wishes come true.

Giving money, is one of the best ways to help. The allotted dollar amounts are 30, 60 and 115, but any amount can be given. Also, the money can be given one time, or on a monthly basis.

Another way to help, is to volunteer. Volunteers are needed in several areas such as office help, fundraising, event planning, public speaking and interpreting languages. Is this new to you? Catch up here Also, volunteering professional services such as photography, construction, and computer expertise is helpful for granting children-s wishes. Donating electronic items like a new computer, smart phone or a gaming console is another way to help.

Every year, the Make a Wish Foundation needs around 50,000 round trip tickets to help meet the needs of ill children and their families whose wish is to travel to various destinations around the world. Donating frequent flyer miles is a unique way to help. Once the miles are donated, they will never expire.

These are some of the ways to help this worthy foundation make the wishes of ill children come true.

The make a wish foundation, gives terminally ill children a chance to make a life wish come true.

The Make a Wish Foundation started with the wish of one little boy.
7 year-old Christopher James Greicius, was suffering from leukemia but he had a dream, to one day become a police officer. Because of the terminal diagnoses, Chris’s dream didn’t have much hope of coming true. Chris had become friends with a U.S. Customs Officer Tommy Austin and after learning of the boy’s wish Austin promised Chris a ride in a police helicopter. With the worsening of Chris’s health his friend Austin planned a special day for the boy.
April 29Th 1980 would be a day that would live in Chris’s mind forever; he got to fly in a helicopter that day with his Mother and a few friends. He also received an official custom made uniform as well and completed a motorcycle test, (on a battery operated one) to earn his wings.
As Chris weakened, he asked to have his hospital room arranged so that he could always see his police uniform.
His last day on earth was on May 3rd.

Since that day, 80,000. wishes have been granted.

The Make a Wish Foundation will make sure that the people its serves get their requests. It often must work quickly to do the seemingly impossible. Sometimes the requests may be simple. Other times, the requests are elaborate. The men and women who volunteer for the Make a Wish foundation will go out of their way to make sure that a dying child gets his wish, even if it’s something like that they want to meet a football athlete just before he performs in the Superbowl. This can be done in many cases. Elaborate wishes require more than just meeting an athlete. The most elaborate wish of the month often involves something that a dying child would like to do before his condition forces him into the Great Beyond. The Make a Wish foundation will try to make this happen. They need to coordinate the wish with the necessary agencies, check with the patient’s doctor and find a time that the patient’s family can experience it.

The Make a Wish Foundation rarely turns requests down, although it does happen. The people who believe in its goals will go out of their way to accommodate the requests. After all, the people who make the request need to have their desires filled quickly.

Make a Wish Foundation is one of the greatest foundations out there today. So, if you love making dreams come true, and working with children who are terminally ill, and who have one wish before they die, you may be a great candidate to work for the foundation, and help make these dreams come true. When making a dream come true, you are giving a child who has no hope to live (there is no cure for their disease or illness), a chance to have the one dream they wish for, come true.I was looking for more information and found it here.

So, if you love the possibility to see a smile on a child’s face, Make a Wish is a great way to help this happen. If you really want to make these dreams come true, you should consider working with the Make a Wish Foundation, and helping to plan out these dreams for children. Not only will you be making these childrens’ dreams come true, but you will help in funding for future childrens’ dreams, and continuing this great foundation. You will not only feel good about the job you are doing, but you will give a child who has no chance of survival, the one thing they want most in life.
